What are D-Groups?
D-Groups are smaller groups of up to 10 people who make a commitment to grow in their walk with God. Whether we’re life-long Christians or new believers, the Bible tells us that we need to meet together regularly for prayer, study, fellowship, and encouragement.
I go to church every Sunday. Why should I join a D-Group?
We come to worship to give ourselves to God, to exalt his name, and to bring him our praises. Worship is primarily about God. D-Groups are a chance for us to examine how God is working in our lives and actively seek to grow in our faith. In a sense, small groups are about us. In small groups, we ask ourselves, how is our worship of God bringing transformation in our lives? We help one another look for evidence of that transformation in us.
I’m in a Sunday school class, do I still need a D-Group?
Yes! Sunday school classes are great connection points and Bible study opportunities, but 45 minutes isn’t always enough time to really connect and go deeper–especially when some folks (like me) come in late and others leave early for their worship duties. D-Groups build on the Sunday school experience and create a setting for you to take what you learned in Sunday school and talk about what it means for your daily life.
What about childcare?
Each group will have different childcare needs, but they will all be met for you. Don’t worry about that, just sign up for the night that works best for you. Once the groups are set, we will coordinate childcare.
What happens at a D-Group meeting?
Food, fellowship, praise, examination of spiritual growth, Bible study, prayers, and maybe more food.
How long are D-Groups?
Most groups will meet for about 90 minutes every other week, though some groups may choose to meet weekly. D-Groups will make a commitment to meet August through May.
How do I sign up?
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25
